Installing HiveBear: first launch guide

Don't have it yet? Download HiveBear.

Keep this page open — the next two minutes are below.

Install on Windows

  1. 1

    Keep the download

Some browsers flag new apps as “not commonly downloaded”. Choose Keep (in Edge: … → Keep → Show more → Keep anyway).

  2. 2

    Run HiveBear-x64.msi

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.

  3. 3

Open HiveBear from the Start menu

If Windows Firewall asks about network access, you can choose Cancel — it's only needed if you later join the hive.

  4. Prefer PowerShell?

Your first five minutes

Install the suggested model

HiveBear checks your hardware and picks a model that fits. One click, usually a 1–5 GB download.

Chat, fully offline

Everything runs on your machine. Nothing leaves it.

Benchmark your machine

30 seconds. Share it anonymously and help people with the same hardware pick the right model.

See the leaderboard →

Optional: a free account puts your name on the benchmark leaderboard and links your devices. HiveBear works fully without one. Create an account
